One thing I would add to it is that owning a business allows you take money that you've earned and reinvest it in the business tax-free. "Can you work less and succeed more?" This article talks about the 80/20 principle, where 20% of your efforts lead to 80% of what you are trying to achieve. Applying it to business, 20% of your activities lead to 80% of your income. Although these percentages have been normalized for public consumption and identification, it underscores a basic truth, that much of what we do is unproductive; to be more productive and successful, increase the productive activities to greater than 20%, and shrink the other part of the pie.
